Dr. McCafferty has had an incredible influence on our program since her arrival in 2016. Her CV is filled with accomplishments in innovating curricula and will be a wonderful addition to our team. She is a proud graduate of the University of Kentucky School of Medicine and joined the UH team as a resident, where she helped to re-imagine Case's EM Interest Group which resulted in her being welcomed by SAEM to present on best practices in EM student engagement. As a chief resident, she helped to reimagine our residency's didactic curriculum making it far more organized, engaging, and effective for all involved. We were lucky enough to retain Dr. McCafferty in our Ultrasound Fellowship where she has re-invigorated our POCUS curriculum to ensure we are a leading force in EM ultrasound. As a junior faculty member she has helped us grow our FOAMEd presence with her hard work on the ultrasound blog series as well as a complete re-design of our department's website, TheLandofEM.com.

Outside of the ED, Dr. McCafferty is an avid runner (who has competed in the Boston Marathon), finds ways to apply Harry Potter references to nearly every aspect of her role, and is a loving mom to her cat, Doc. Her expertise in POCUS will further our team's goal to build expert diagnosticians while also helping us to chart a course in growing our FOAMEd presence on the national scene. We are so excited for her to be joining the residency leadership and know she will continue to help us on our quest for #CLErising.
