The University Hospitals Center for Emergency Medicine aspires to advance the field of emergency medicine with timely and important research and scholarly activity. Scholarly activity in turn furthers the academic missions of the department, and trains residents and students to better understand the research process and how to critically appraise the medical literature.

University Hospitals CMC Center for Emergency Medicine has outstanding research opportunities with access to the resources of UH Cleveland Medical Center and Case Western Reserve University. Our department has a wide range of research interests, including a focus on industry-sponsored clinical trials, sexually transmitted diseases, HIV, critical care, medical education, prehospital & disaster medicine, sports medicine, simulation, toxicology, ultrasound, and clinical operations.
