Dr. Stephanie Gaines is the 2021 UH EM Educator of the Year!

Congratulations to Dr. Stephanie Gaines on being awarded the UH EM Educator of the Year by the Class of 2021.

Dr. Gaines has been the heart and soul of this residency since the very beginning and has contributed to the education and growth of the residents and program in more ways than we can count. Because of her warm personality, soft-spoken nature, and incredible emotional intelligence, residents immediately connect with her. She balances her unconditional love with holding residents accountable for their learning and keeps it real when the going gets tough. She’s known as “Mama Gaines”, and there’s truly no better way to describe her. For all of these reasons, she is an amazing educator and is so deserving of this honor.
