Developing Expert Diagnosticians
As Intern Orientation comes to an end, we look back on a great month filled with high-yield, practical learning! Centered around faculty chalk talks on how to approach an undifferentiated symptom/chief complaint and near-daily sim sessions, our interns have learned how to think about, assess, manage, and develop broad differentials for the undifferentiated patient. We’ve also ingrained the utility of POCUS as a bedside diagnostic tool and dedicated an entire day to learning all things POCUS with our own ultrasound faculty as well as ultrasound leaders throughout NE Ohio.
While our interns are only one month into residency, they are already on the path to becoming expert diagnosticians. We’re excited to see what they’ll do over the next three years and beyond!
